Led to Chiropractic by a Health Scare
Just after I was born, I developed a serious condition called hydrocephaly. This inflammation in the brain caused my skull to start expanding. My parents didn’t know what to do. Our doctors told us our only option was major surgery and massive shunts they’d have to put in to drain fluid from my brain stem. One of my dad’s friends had just graduated from chiropractic college and specialized in cranial work. My parents decided to try chiropractic before resorting to surgery and the result not only saved, but changed my life forever.
Letting the Body Heal Itself
My parents traveled over an hour and a half one way, multiple times per week, to initiate the change. This commitment and consistency is what allowed my body to heal and return to normal function. Serious and even life threatening surgery was avoided and the amazing healing potential in my body was restored.
Deciding on Chiropractic
Dr. Schulte started out at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln with the intent on becoming a civil engineer. Although the classes were very interesting, Dr. Schulte felt his passion and calling in life was to help people more directly. As a result, he changed career paths and completed both pre-medicine and pre-chiropractic, while majoring in biochemistry.
In trying to decide which path to take, Dr. Schulte worked in one of the largest pediatric clinics in Lincoln, contemplating being a pediatrician. Although he learned a lot from the doctors there and had a wonderful experience, he could see the frustration in both the parents’ and doctors’ eyes when the only options they had for the children, especially with ear infections, was drugs or surgery and eventually tubes.
Dr. Schulte knew there had to be a better way and spent much of his free time studying the subject and gaining a better understanding of human physiology and how the body was designed to heal. After graduating cum laude, he had to make a decision on which path to take
The Body’s Amazing Capabilities
Dr. Schulte’s aunt was diagnosed with Stage 4 terminal cancer. She used a natural approach, including chiropractic, and it saved her life. Dr. Schulte knew then that chiropractic would be his path. He chose Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa to complete his education. During his final rotation in school, he decided to travel back to Nebraska to train under the chiropractor who saved his life as a child. Through months of intense training, it was there that Dr. Schulte learned the unique technique he uses today in practice.
Staying Actively Involved
Dr. Schulte recently married his wife, Rachal, who is a nurse, with an extensive knowledge and appreciation for the body and taking a natural approach to health.
Dr. Schulte enjoys CrossFit, playing the piano, Red Sox baseball, Kentucky basketball, and of course, Nebraska football.
